Are you driving from Belgium to lofoten? How many kilometres is that?
Yes, I drove the whole way up, it was crazy! From Belgium it was 3000km to Bodo were I took the ferry to Lofoten. I was driving for 3 days non stop, sleeping in my car in some heavy snowstorms. It was a really good experience but crazy at some times.
What got in to you when you made that call? We all know you have some spicy herbs around your part of Europe.
Haha, I just wanted to do and see something new. I’ve been alot to the sma place in and out of Europe but I reallized there are amazing waves in Europe that I havent been to. I heard a lot of good storys about Norway so I came up with the whole plan to drive from North Europe to the South and see the differences in the country’s and waves.
Lars lager film fra surfen i Lofoten som vi kommer til å legge ut. Imellomtiden kan du kose deg med noen snapshots fra filmen.

Is Lars a common name in Belgium? Any Norwegian roots maybe?
I have a couple of friends with the same name as I have. But it’s not like an name you hear every day in Belgium. I think my mom and dad just liked the scandinavian names…My brother is called Niels. For as far as I know we don’t have any roots up here.
Who is surfing with you?
For the moment I’m by myself with a filmer. I meet up with some local people and surf with them. Up here it is really nice to surf with some people who are knowing the places!
How is the scenery?
The scenery here in Lofoten is mindblowing! By far the most beautiful I’ve seen in Europe! I would even like to say the most beautiful I’ve seen in my life but I’ve been to a lot of really nice places. This is just so different, I’m really happy to be here. It’s amazing!
Whats the surf been like? Anything like you expected?
Waves have been really fun. I came up here with high expectations, I don’t know why but I had a feeling waves were gonna be really good. And it is just like I thought it would be!
Where have you surfed?
For the moment I surfed most of the time just in front were I am staying. I stay in Unstad camping and this place is so good, and has some worldclass waves around!
How long are you staying in Norway? Going to some other locations maybe?
Not to sure yet how much longer I will stay, I’m defenitely gonna go check things out more south before I go to Danmark.
Met some Norwegian chicks yet?
Not really, Unstad is a really small town… But my friends who fly in yesterday over Oslo told me it was amazing how much hot girls there were. So maybe I can tell you what I thinks about the Norwegian girls once I’m staying around a bigger town.
What kinda boards did you bring?
I dind’t really know what to expect so I just took two normal shortboards with me 6’0 and a bigger board 6’4. Doesn’t look like I will need my 6’4 here but you never know what happens…
Do you know any Norwegian words yet?
Not really it sounds like suchs a crazy language but every now and than I understand like some flamish words in it! ‘Takk for intervjuet’ haha
What do you think about the people up in Lofoten?
People over here are so friendly!!! The are the nicest people. The locals in the water are super friendly and really helpfull. I really want to thank Tommy and Marion from Unstad camping aswell. They been really good for me and helped me alot!
